Vital Babies Program
Week 1: Sleep – Jenna Affleck — @jenna_affleck_newborn_care
Jenna Affleck is a Newborn Care Specialist and Infant Sleep Consultant passionate about sleep and babies. She blends these two loves in her sessions by teaching parents how to create healthy sleep hygiene for their little ones in a relaxed, conversational atmosphere.
Week 2: Movement – Dr Mary Bourke / Chiropractor
Mary is a chiropractor whose special interests lie in paediatric care and neurological development. Mary’s session focuses on the importance of movement and primitive reflexes and the impact this has on a baby an young child’s growth and development.
Mary is also a mother of 3 teenage girls.
Week 3: Nutrition –Ell Wynne/ Naturopath @ellthenaturopath
Week 4: Play – Michelle Newby / Occupational Therapist @michellenewbyot @steppingstonesnewcastle
Michelle is a paediatric occupational therapist and has worked with children and families around the world for over 20 years. She has a special interest in early childhood development and has worked on neonatal units in the UK, supporting the development of at risk infants, both in hospital and at home. Michelle continues her work with babies and children in her work as Clinical Director of Stepping Stones Therapy for Children, a paediatric occupational therapy practice in Merewether.
Michelle is passionate about supporting babies and children to reach their potential, by empowering their families with skills and knowledge. Children are born to play. Play is a child’s business or career, and it lays the foundations for adulthood. The first year of life is all about sensory-motor play, and this is what Michelle will explore during this workshop.
